Katrina Powell
Ponnani: Romanian writer Katrina Powell has come to Ponnani to study the culture and religious harmony of the place. She visited the famous ancient mosques and historic families.
After visiting Kamala Surayya's memorial at Punnayoorkulam in Thrissur district, Katrina visited Vettam Pokkiriyakam, Chozhimadom and Noordiyanakam and the Great Juma Masjid, Theruvath Masjid and Thottungal Masjid.
Katrina had written a research paper on Kamala Surayya. She is a research student at the University of Göttingen, Germany. She also visited the residence of Prof Kadavanad Muhammad, the State General Secretary of MES.
Katrina Powell came to Ponnani at the invitation of MK Pramod, a former Controller of Examinations, Calicut University, and a native of Ponnani. Katrina also visited the riverside Karma road and travelled on a boat through Bharathapuzha.
