Resort rave party: Organizers received drugs from Bengaluru residents
Thiruvananthapuram: In relation to the rave party held at a resort in Karakkad, the officials are in search of the Bengaluru residents who supplied drugs to the party organisers. It is learned that Akshay Mohan, the organiser of the party, was handed over deadly drugs including MDMA by these Bengaluru residents. At the same time, models who came to attend a fashion show eloped after learning that the group has been busted by the excise.
The three mobile phones seized from the accused will be produced for cyber examination with the permission of the court to identify the suppliers. Details of the phone calls are also being collected. A special investigation team headed by Assistant Excise Commissioner S Vinod Kumar will look into the matter as the plot intensifies further.
The police are also investigating money laundering deals held at the party. It was also revealed that the organiser of the party is based in Kullu, a North Indian tourist destination.
They organized music parties in various parts of the state and sold synthetic drugs discreetly. The music fest and fashion show were meant to distract the police and excise. They had taken precautions to prevent the seizure of drugs kept for sale in the event of a raid during the party. Further, the organiser has sophisticated ways of identifying and distributing the drugs to the potential customers by keeping a lid on their identity.
Meantime, the authorities have identified illegal resorts which are functioning in Attupuram and Pozhikkara areas. It is reported that many of these resorts are not registered or have a licence from the authorities. In the wake of these revelations, the Kulathoor Panchayath has issued notices demanding many illegal resorts in the area to be closed down.
