Replacement service should be arranged in 15 minutes if KSRTC buses damaged in transit
Alappuzha: A new order has been issued directing that KSRTC buses should be replaced immediately in the event of a breakdown or accident during the run.
If something happens to the buses during the journey, the conductors must notify the control room within five minutes. The KSRTC will take action against those who fail to notify this. The nearest depot should be immediately informed by the control room.
The authorities must ensure that a replacement is arranged within 15 minutes. Failure to do the same will be the responsibility of the officer in charge of control room duty, says the order issued by the KSRTC Chairman and Managing Director.
If the bus does not belong to the same category as the damaged bus, the lower or upper-tier bus can be used. In case of damage or accident during the return of a service, another bus should be arranged for those who have booked.
In some cases, bus services are also canceled without examining the reservations booked on the return trip. If the bus cannot return, the order says that the authorities should arrange another bus from the control room.
The order said that passengers should not have to wait for more than 30 minutes on the road without getting a bus.
