Renaissance Orgs to form women wall on Jan 1
Thiruvanathapuram: The renaissance organisations will form a women wall from Kasaragod to Thiruvananthapuram raising the slogan ‘Don’t turn Kerala to lunatic asylum again’ on January 1, 2019. The decision has been made by the organisations that took part in the meet convened by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Saturday.
The representatives of most of the organisations that attended the meet supported the government’s stance on Sabarimala, Chief Minister said at a press meet here.
“An opinion, that a programme with women in its centre has to be conducted as they are facing huge discrimination, was formed at the meet. Further it was decided on forming a women wall from Kasaragod to Thiruvananthapuram. A general council was framed for this purpose. SNDP general secretary Vellapally Natesan will chair the council. Punnala Sreekumar was elected as the Convenor. Vidyasagar and V Raghavan were elected as Vice Chairmen. CR Devadas, CP Sugathan and EN Sankaran were elected as Joint Convenors. Treasurer is K Somaprasad.
P Ramabhadran, PK Sajeev, K Ramankutty, Rajendra Prasad, NK Neelakandan, MV Jayaprakash, Ad KR Surendran, Karimpuzha Raman, Baskaran Nair, Seethadevi, TP Kunjumon, and KK Suresh were elected as Executive Committee members.
The meet was called with the aim to protect the values of renaissance organisations. NSS skipped the meet in which representatives of around 190 organisations were invited.
CM opined that NSS was inevitable among the renaissance organisations and they should have attended.
