Relief as zero COVID-19 case reported in Kerala on Friday; 9 recover
Thiruvananthapuram: In a relief for Kerala, no COVID-19 case was reported in the state on Friday while 9 recovered from the virus, Health Minister K. K. Shailaja said.
9 people – 4 each from Kannur and Kasaragod districts and one from Ernakulam were tested negative on Friday. With this the total number of patients who recovered from coronavirus rose to 392, a press release from the Health Minister’s office said.
As on Friday, 102 persons are under treatment for COVID-19 at various hospitals.
At present, 21,499 persons are under observation in the state. Among this 21,067 are at houses while 432 are at hospitals.
On Friday, 106 persons were admitted to hospitals. So far 27,150 samples have been sent for testing out of which 26,225 have turned negative, the release added.
As part of sentinel surveillance, 1,862 samples were collected from people priority groups including health workers and other state labourers. Out of them, 999 results have come out negative. The remaining are awaited.
As part of intensifying communal COVID-19 testing, 3,128 samples were collected and sent for tests. Out of them, 3,089 have come out negative. Four positive cases out of the test results were announced earlier.
As many as 14 samples sent for re-examination are being evaluated. Moreover, 21 samples rejected by labs have also been sent for re-examination.
