Kozhikode: Mizoram Governor PS Sreedharan Pillai said that his relationship with Mathrubhumi started ever since he learned to read. He was speaking at the function arranged to welcome him at Mathrubhumi office.
“Mathrubhumi has a very important place in my heart. It has played a major role in my growth,” he said.
If the freedom enjoyed by media is restricted, there will be no democracy. The ethics of democracy lies in respecting other’s opinion,” he added.
Pillai also opined that Mizoram is a natural beauty and the people there wonderful. He said that Prime Minister Modi has entrusted him with the duty of winning confidence of people of Mizoram before swearing-in as Governor.
The visit to Mathrubhumi has given me the energy to continue with duties more vigorously, further said the Mizoram Governor.
Mathrubhumi Managing Director M P Veerendra Kumar MP said that Pillai has been a humble soul ever since. The Pillai while writing and the Pillai in other times are different. MP also expressed his happiness over Pillai being appointed as Mizoram Governor. While being the Governor, Pillai will get more time to write, he said.
Veedrendra Kumar also expressed hope on more contributions from Pillai towards Malayalam literature when he comes back from official duties.
