Reinstatement of SI Shibu: Kevin’s father to file complaint to CM, DGP
Kochi: In the controversial Kevin murder case, Kevin’s father will file a complaint to the Chief Minister, DGP and opposition leader for reinstating the police official who was suspended in connection with the case. Police Inspector Shibu who was under suspension in connection with controversial honour killing of Kevin, resumed office on Tuesday with special order from IG.
Responding to Mathrubhumi News, Kevin’s father condemned the reinstatement of the cop. “If the sub inspector had taken immediate action, Kevin wouldn’t have been killed,” said Kevin’s father.
When Kevin went missing, his family filed a complaint with Gandhi Nagar police station. But SI Shibu delayed the inquiry claiming he was in-charge of chief minister’s security and could not oversee this case.
Earlier, police department had dismissed ASI Biju and blocked the allowances of some policemen for receiving bribe from Neenu’s relatives to settle the case. Amidst this, Kochi range IG Vijay Sakhare ordered to reinstate the suspended SI.
The top official issued the reinstatement order when the police department issued a dismissal notice to Shibu. It is reported that Superintendent of Police will take a decision on assigning duty to Shibu.
Meanwhile, it is hinted that Kochi range IG issued the order on the basis of Shibu’s explanation in connection with Kevin murder case.
