Rehabilitation camps opened in Kochi following continuous rain
Kochi: Orange alert has been declared in 13 districts except Thiruvananthapuram on Tuesday. The meteorological department has predicted heavy rain with lightning strikes for the next 3 days in the state.
Rehabilitation camps have been opened in various parts of Kochi due to the water logging caused by the continuous rains. The camps have been opened in Panambilly Nagar Higher Secondary School, Saint Reethas Higher secondary school, Nayarambalam Devi Vilasam LP school and Panayappali Government High school.
The continuous rain has taken a toll on the polling in the by- election as well. All passenger trains coming under Thiruvananthapuram Division were cancelled due to unabated rain. Landslip occurred on the railway track on Piravom-Vaikom route. Following this, all passenger trains on Ernakulam-Kayamkulam route were cancelled.
