Recovery of answer sheets from accused house: SI shifted from duty
Thiruvananthapuram: Following the recovery of answer sheets from the house of the accused in the stabbing incident, a police official in SI rank has been shifted to secondary post. Sub Inspector R Binu in cantonment police station, who was in charge of maintaining law and order, was removed from his duty.
The probe on stabbing case has uncovered serious lapses in management of answer sheets in the University College. Cantonment police seized answer sheets from key accused Shivaranjith’s house. Police seized the answer sheets and seal of physical director from his house. Shivaranjith’s house was raided when he went absconding.
The police were directed to arrest the accused in the stabbing case to suppress the protest against SFI. But it is learned that recovery of answer sheets from the accused house and diversion in the case irked the government.
The government has planned to settle the case without creating any harm to the party. As part of this, SFI unit in the college was dismissed and CPM leaders openly criticised the accused in the case.
But, when police raided answer sheets from Shivaranjith’s house, PSC police constable exam also came under scanner as the accused topped the exam. Following this, PSC also landed up in a controversy.
It is reported that the police official was shifted to a secondary post due to the pressute from CPM. The family members of the accused are also CPM supporters. Meanwhile, police in their official explanation noted there are no abnormalities in the procedures.
“Circle Inspector is the officer of the police station. All police Sub Inspectors have same duty in the police station,” said police.
