Thiruvananthapuram: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan announced that the state government will summon a global development conclave in connection with the rebuilding Kerala project. He noted that the conclave will be titled as Development Partners Conclave.
Ahead of this conclave, a team of state government officials held talks with officials from various agencies led by World Bank director of India. Kerala’s proposals on post-flood development projects were discussed in the meeting.
With the conclave, the state government aims to seek financial and technical support to meet basic needs of flood ravaged Kerala. World Bank, Asian Bank, KFW, Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), French Development Agency and German Development Agency are expected to attend the conclave.
The CM clarified that separate financial talks will be held for various sectors. “Discussions will be held for the accumulation of sources and technical support to rebuild Kerala,” he added.
