Real estate sector sees revival in Kerala

Thiruvananthapuram: The real estate sector in Kerala is seeing a revival in the post-Covid era with a sudden increase in registrations of mega projects under the Kerala Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA Kerala).

For instance, 159 projects were registered in 2022 compared to 114 in 2021. According to RERA Kerala, there is a visible increase of 39.47 per cent.

Ernakulam district has the highest number of registrations at 80, followed by Thiruvananthapuram-72, Kottayam-8, Idukki-2, Thrissur-25, Palakkad-13, Malappuram-3, Kozhikode-17, Kannur-6 and Kasaragod 2, Alappuzha-1 and Pathanamthitta-1. The districts that did not have any registrations in 2022 were Wayanad and Kollam.

In 2022, residential projects accounted for the highest number of registrations at 148. Villas-50, commercial-residential projects-19, plot registration-7, and shop-office space-3.
