Kochi: The government informed the High Court that they will provide security to the real devotees who arrive at Sabarimala regardless of gender. It also informed the court that a thorough investigation will be held to know the background of those who demand police security for visiting the temple.
The court was considering the petition filed by four women, including two lawyers, demanding police security for visiting Sabarimala. The court also pointed out that any devotee can go to Sabarimala in the backdrop of the Supreme Court verdict.
The government assured the court that it will protect such devotees and the court recorded the same. Following this, the court settled the petition and demanded to take all necessary action to maintain law and order in Sabarimala.
The court noted that there is no need to issue an order for arranging security for the petitioners as they have not faced any negative experience. They were supposed to approach the police for security. So, no order need to be issued now, the court observed.
