Reaction of devotees normal, govt has to take suitable stance, says Kummanam Rajasekharan

Kummanam said that there are so many forces that does not want Sabarimala pilgrimage Mahotsav to take place

Thiruvananthapuram: Former Mizoram governor Kummanam Rajasekharan warned of dire consequences if Trupti Desai and her group is given entry to Sabarimala shrine. He also alleged that the women’s rights activist’s arrival is part of the conspiracy to destroy Sabarimala.

Kummanam said that there are so many forces that do not want Sabarimala pilgrimage mahotsav to take place. These incidents are examples of attempts to sabotage the pride of believers by interfering in the traditions and practices of the temple. He also said it is condemnable that certain sections are trying to take advantage of the situation by inciting violence.

“Ayyappa devotees protect the traditions of the temple as it is the apple of their eye. Naturally there will be reaction from the part of the devotees when someone goes against it. So the government must take suitable actions,” Kummanam said.
