Thiruvananthapuram: Four more persons died of leptospirosis ( rat fever ) in Thiruvananthapuram Medical college on Wednesday.
Rajam from Vellarada (60), Lathika from Pathanamthitta (53), Aboobakkar from Thrissur (72) and Saradha from Palakkad (56) died of the disease.
Meanwhile, 64 persons have been diagnosed with the disease and 142 have been under observation.Sixteen cases have been confirmed in Pathanamthitta, 10 in Kozhikode and 2 in Ernakulam. While in Malappuram 36 people are under observation with symptoms and 8 confirmed cases are reported.
39 detected with Dengue fever
In Kerala, 39 people are suspected to be infected with Dengue fever. Six have been identified with the symptoms in Ernakulam and a person from Cherai was confirmed with the fever.Six were under treatment for Chicken pox and one was admitted with the symptoms of H1N1 in Thiruvananthapuram. According to health department, it is suspected that Mani from Malappuram(40) died of Hepatitis-A infection.
