Pathanamthitta: A 16-year-old boy, Muhammad Ashique, was found dead in the well of a house at Puthussery Mana near Ranni. Ashique had gone to visit his friend on Saturday night. He was found dead in the well at his friend’s neighbour’s property.
Ashique called his friend, who was his classmate, but couldn't reach her, prompting him to visit her residence in person. He parked his scooter nearby and walked to the house. The police reported that Ashique fled the spot when the girl's mother appeared after knocking on the window.

Later, Ashique's body was discovered in a well on an abandoned property. His scooter was also located nearby.
Concerned about Ashique's disappearance, his twin brother suspected he may have gone to meet his friend. Subsequently, the scooter was found near the girl's house. A search in the area resulted in the discovery of Ashique's body in the well. Following a post-mortem examination at Kottayam Medical College, the body was handed over to relatives on Monday afternoon.
The police have clarified that Ashique's death is not mysterious. He may have slipped into the well while running away, they said.
