Ramesh Chennithala slams appointment of retired officers to probe Sprinklr deal
Thiruvananthapuram: Leader of Opposition Ramesh Chennithala said the appointment of two retired officers to probe the Sprinklr issue was only a move to whitewash the deal. The Congress leader added that he does not approve the appointment.
This appointment is only to distract the public from the real issue. The committee is not capable of investigating into an international agreement that was signed violating all rules and regulations, Ramesh Chennithala said.
“Both members of the committee are employees of a private firm. They will not be able to check the documents regarding Sprinklr deal or question officials concerned. They cannot question Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, who is in charge of the IT department,” the Opposition leader said.
A patched up committee has been appointed to investigate into a patched up deal, Ramesh Chennithala alleged.
“The CM had been terming the allegations against Sprinklr deal as lies. If the allegations are lies, he must clarify why the committee has been appointed,” he said.
The CPM secretariat said it would probe the matter after the coronavirus pandemic is over. This means that something inappropriate has happened and it will be probed later. What is the point of investigating after all the data has been leaked? Ramesh Chennithala wondered.
CPM has now approved the Opposition’s allegations regarding the Sprinklr deal, the Congress leader added.
