Thiruvananthapuram: Opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala has sent a legal notice to Biju Ramesh for making defamatory statements against him.

Chennithala has asked Biju Ramesh to withdraw his statements and to render an apology. The notice was sent via former prosecution general and advocate T Asif Ali.

The notice stated that embarrassment caused by the false statements made by Biju Ramesh against Ramesh Chennithala, who has been serving the public selflessly for more than 50 years, is beyond appraisal and that civil and criminal cases will be filed if he does not render an apology after withdrawing his statements.

As per reports, there were defamatory statements in the CDs submitted along with 164 statements submitted by Biju Ramesh in connection with the Bar bribery scam case. Since these CDs have been proven to be fake, the statements made by him are defamatory.

Ramesh Chennithala demanded through the notice that Biju Ramesh should withdraw these statements completely and apologize to him.
