Ramesh Chennithala seeks Governor’s intervention on University college issue
Thiruvananthapuram: Leader of Opposition Ramesh Chennithala demanded Governor’s intervention in the University college issue. He also wanted the government to face CBI investigation in the University college violence and PSC rank list issues.
Ramesh Chennithala was addressing the media after visiting Governor Justice P. Sathasivam over the issues at University college.
“There are attempts to sabotage the case. There is corruption and bias regarding the PSC rank list. Justice P Sathasivam must intervene in the matter not only as the Governor but also as the Chancellor and the official in charge of PSC appointments,” Ramesh Chennithala demanded.
The present situation threatens the credibility of both the PSC and Kerala University. The PSC is not acting on its responsibilities. The Syndicate sub-committee has been established to sabotage the case and safeguard the accused. Not even CPI members have been included in the sub-committee, the Congress leader noted.
“The government has been unable to take any action. The Higher Education sector is a mess. Neither the Chief Minister, nor the Minister for Education is taking any action. I spoke to the Governor in this regard. The Governor said he has taken these matters very seriously,” Ramesh Chennithala said.
