Thiruvananthapuram: KPCC leadership raised their dissatisfaction against senior Congress leader Ramesh Chennithala for declaring the crucial decisions of the party by overtaking the leadership. The brewing tensions in Congress was caused by Chennithala’s announcement of the party's decision to introduce a resolution against the amendments of the Lok Ayukta Act.
It has been alleged that the leaders will inform their discontent directly to Chennithala. However, the supporters of Chennithala claim that he had been executing the powers as a member of the Assembly and acting according to the decisions of the UDF.
Ramesh Chennithala had slammed CM and the governor for 'fooling the public' by devising the amendments in Lok Ayukta and declared that Congress will move a resolution against the amendments soon in the Assembly. However, his announcement over the resolution without consulting the KPCC leadership has irked the present office-bearers.
The KPCC leaders demanded that the new leadership must be entrusted to announce such crucial decisions of the party. The final decisions and their declarations must come from the KPCC president or the opposition leader. VD Satheesan and K Sudhakaran will meet Ramesh Chennithala and convey this.
