Ramesh Chennithala has become RSS’s favourite: Kodiyeri Balakrishnan
Thiruvananthapuram: CPM state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan said that Opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala has become a favourite of the RSS. He was addressing the media after a party secretariat meeting.
The RSS wants a leader other than Oommen Chandy and P. K. Kunhalikkutty controlling the UDF. They are providing all help for Chennithala to realise this, Kodiyeri said.
The BJP and RSS are not ready to oppose Congress in Kerala. Why are they taking such a stand in Kerala while they are opposing Congress in all other states and at the centre, the CPM leader asked.
The Opposition in Kerala has become one that does what the RSS intends to do. The tactic used by both the BJP and the Congress is to attack the LDF government whenever there is an opportunity. Two parties which are at each other’s throats in all other states are working together in Kerala. During his afternoon press conference, the Opposition leader is reiterating what the BJP state president said in his morning press conference, Kodiyeri alleged.
The CPM leader criticised that protests organised by BJP and Congress have sent the message that maintaining social distancing was not necessary. Even the top leaders have gathered together to handle matters. This resulted in the people dropping their guard against coronavirus, he added.
Kodiyeri said the CPM were of the opinion that a decision regarding complete lockdown must be taken only after considering the practical difficulties and opinions raised during the all party meeting.
“If the number of patients increases exponentially, the government will have to impose complete lockdown. CPM wants the government to take that decision accordingly,” he added.
