Thiruvananthapuram: Biju Ramesh has come out with a response over presenting an edited CD in connection with the Bar bribery case.

Biju Ramesh’s response comes after the High Court directed the magistrate court to take follow up action over a petition stating that edited CD was submitted in the court.

Speaking to the media, Biju Ramesh said that the edited CD was given to Vigilance earlier and that he had clarified that the CD was edited. “I have clarified the same in the secret statement given in the court. No court has stated that the CD was tampered with. The HC only said that the magistrate court should consider the case,” he added.

Initially, I had given the edited CD to the Vigilance. Later, I gave the device, in which the conversation with bar owners was recorded, to the court. However, the investigation agencies are not ready to examine or identify the voices in the recording, alleged Biju Ramesh.

He also alleged that Ramesh Chennithala was behind the petition. Chennithala approached the court through benamis in an effort to threaten me. It was Chennithala’s advocate who appeared in this case as well.

Biju Ramesh claimed that Congress leaders had approached him seeking not to make such allegations during the election.
