Ramesh Chennithala apologises for controversial 'rape' comment
Thiruvananthapuram: Opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala has expressed regret for his controversial comments on rape. He stated in his Facebook post that the comment that he made was unintentional and he has withdrawn his statement. He also conveyed an apology on the matter.
Ramesh Chennithala had asked the other day, whether it was written somewhere that only DYFI activists can rape women, in response to the question asked by a journalist. This led to a huge controversy and he was subjected to severe criticism.
He said in the FB post that he has not made even a single comment against women in his entire political life and he is very particular that no woman should be hurt his words, even if the words were misinterpreted. He also added he led his political career with the firm belief that he should not make any such statements.
