Rainfall likely in Kerala till Wednesday


Yellow alert has been issued in Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Idukki, Thrissur and Palakkad on Monday and Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Kottayam and Idukki on Tuesday.

Thiruvananthapuram: The Meteorological Department predicted that rainfall accompanied by lightning is likely to occur in isolated places in the state till Wednesday.

Yellow alert has been issued in Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Idukki, Thrissur and Palakkad on Monday and Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Kottayam and Idukki on Tuesday.

Lightning is likely during the hours between 2 pm and 10 pm. High tides and rough sea are predicted in Kollam, Alappuzha, Kochi, Ponnani, Kozhikode, Kannur and Kasaragod coasts till Monday at 11.30 pm, warned the National Institute of Oceanography.
