Rain: Yellow alert issued in various districts from Tuesday
Thiruvananthapuram: Heavy rains are predicted in various districts of Kerala from Tuesday onwards owing to the depression formed over the coastal area of Andhra Pradesh. Based on the predictions, India Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert.
Yellow alert was issued in four districts on Tuesday, eight districts on Wednesday and nine on Thursday.
However, the depression formed over Gujarat coast is likely to move towards Oman coast during the next 72 hours. This is unlikely to affect Kerala and fishermen are free to venture into sea, said the officials.
Tuesday: Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Idukki and Malappuram
Wednesday: Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Ernakulam, Idukki, Thrissur and Malappuram
Thursday: Alappuzha, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Idukki, Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode and Wayanad
