Rain to continue for 5 days; yellow alert in various districts


Yellow alert has been issued in Wayanad, Kannur and Kasaragod districts on May 13 and in Malappuram and Kozhikode districts on May 14.

Thiruvananthapuram: The meteorological department has warned of summer rain accompanied by lightning for five more days in various districts in Kerala. An yellow alert has been issued in various districts.

Yellow alert has been issued in Wayanad, Kannur and Kasaragod districts on May 13 and in Malappuram and Kozhikode districts on May 14. Upto 64.5-115.5 millimeter rain will occur in isolated places within 24 hours.

Rain accompanied by lightning and gusty wind is predicted in various places till May 14. The State Disaster Management Authority has warned people to strictly follow the safety instructions. Fisherfolk have been particularly asked to remain alert.
