Kerala to receive heavy rain for next five days; red alert in Idukki

Thiruvananthapuram: The state of Kerala may receive heave rain in the coming five days, forecasts Central Meteorological Department. Red alert has been issued in Idukki district on Tuesday.

Orange alert was in place in Idukki and Pathanamthitta districts on Monday. Districts like Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Kottayam, Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur and Kasargod districts were under yellow alert.

On Tuesday, Kottayam, Palakkad and Malappuram districts will have Orange alert. Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Thrissur, Kozhikode, Kannur and Kasargod districts will have yellow alert.

On Wednesday, Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Malappuram, Wayanad, Kozhikode, Kannur and Kasargod districts will have yellow alert. Public has been directed to follow all safety guidelines.
