Heavy rainfall continues in Kerala; yellow alert in 8 districts

Thiruvananthapuram: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted rainfall in southern and central districts will continue till Sunday.

The IMD has issued yellow alerts in Kollam, Alappuzha, Pathanamthitta, Kottayam, Idukki, Ernakulam, Kozhikode and Kannur.

Gusty wind with a speed of 35-50 kmph is expected and residents in hilly regions need to be alert.

There is chances of high tidal waves and people living in coastal regions and fisherfolk should be vigilant, the IMD officials informed.
