Railways to operate special trains on Thiruvananthapuram-Ernakulam route from June 1
Thiruvananthapuram: The Railways will operate trains on the stretch of Thiruvananthapuram-Ernakulam route every day from June 1. The special train (06302) which will depart from Thiruvananthapuram central at 7.45 am will reach Ernakulam at 12.30 pm.
At the same time, another train (06301) will leave from Ernakulam at 1 pm and reach Thiruvananthapuram at 5.30 pm. Venad Express will be operated as special train.
The special trains were scheduled to help passengers from Thiruvananthapuram who need to board Mangala Express from Ernakulam. This time schedule of trains will continue from June 1 to 9.
The time of the morning train will be revised according to the time schedule of Mangala Express from June 10.
With this, the train will depart from Thiruvananthapuram central at 5.15 am and reach Ernakulam at 9.45 am. At 1 pm, the train will return to Thiruvananthapuram. This train will have stoppages at Kollam, Chengannur, Thiruvalla and Kottayam.
One AC car chair and 18-second class coaches will be available on the special train.
Online booking for tickets has commenced. The tickets will be available at the counters in railway stations from Monday.
Passengers will be allowed to enter the railway stations after a medical checkup. People with fever will not be permitted to travel.
Meanwhile, the railway informed that Thiruchirappalli-Nagercoil superfast will also resume operation from Monday. This train will depart from Thiruchirappalli at 6 am and reach Nagercoil at 1 pm. Nagercoil-Thiruchirappalli train will depart at 3 pm and reach the destination at 10.15 pm.
11 reservation counters in Thiruvananthapuram division will not be functional on Sundays as complete lockdown will be in force, informed railways.
