Kerala gets new MEMU train; to begin service from Jan 26

Kozhikode: A new MEMU train has been sanctioned for Kerala. As per the notification issued by the Southern Railway, an unreserved expressed special train on Mangalore–Kannur route will be operated with 12 car MEMU rakes from January 26.

It is learnt that the train will be having a total of 12 bogies. However, no decision has been taken on matters including the schedule of the train.

The decision to sanction a MEMU train was taken upon a meeting of Kerala MPs with the General Manager of the Southern Railway.
