Bengaluru: Despite three more months for the Christmas-New Year holidays, the booking for trains from Bengaluru to Kerala is already on waiting list. Generally, Malayalis return to Kerala for holidays on December 23 and 24. However, bookings for trains to Kerala on December 23 are on the waiting list, with many confirmed tickets sold to people in southern Kerala.
Meanwhile, more than 1000 unsold tickets are left for Kannur-bound trains on December 23 and 24. But some coaches are already on the waiting list. It is estimated that Malayalis would have to rely on private bus service or other premium services to travel to Kerala.
Meanwhile, trains to Kerala have run out of tickets for the Pooja holidays in October. Many passengers suggested that Indian Railway should consider allowing special trains during festive seasons.
