Kozhikode: Railway police have arrested the assailant who stabbed a passenger on board the Maru Sagar Express in Shornur on Sunday.

Siyad is said to have attacked the Parappanangadi (Kozhikode) native Devadas when he questioned the former for misbehaving with women passengers on the train. According to police, Siyad attacked Devadas using a glass bottle. Siyad also suffered hand injuries and is undergoing treatment at a hospital.

The incident happened around 10:45 pm when the train reached Shornur Railway Station. Devadas, who was travelling in the General Compartment, suffered injuries to the side of the face. Devadas sustained a fractured bone, informed the police.
