Radar system will be brought for search operation: Minister AK Saseendran
Kozhikode: Minister A. K. Saseendran said that radar system will be utilised to locate those who went missing in landslides in the state. For this purpose, Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) will have to be brought from Hyderabad via airway. A discussion has been held with the air force in this regard. The equipment is expected to reach here in two days, the minister said.
The minister also urged the people to stop circulating fake news that rescue and search operations have been stopped. The GPR will be first brought to Kavalappara and then to Puthumala. He added that the government will stand strong with the feelings of the people who lost their family in the disaster. The search operation will be continued until all dead bodies are found.
A meeting was held the other day with the relatives of the missing people. They can point out places where they suspect the people have been trapped, to make the search more effective. Though rain has receded, caution will be exercised. The incidents of developing cracks on the ground has been noticed. The local bodies are directed to take further actions in this regard, the minister added.
