R-Day celebration: Kerala Governor unfurls tricolour in Thiruvananthapuram

Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala Governor Arif Mohammed Khan unfurled the national flag at the state-level Republic Day celebrations in the presence of Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan in Thiruvananthapuram on Thursday.

He extended wishes to all Malayalis across the world. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said that it is important to uphold the values of democracy.

After inspecting the parade, Kerala Governor extended his wishes in Malayalam. He also praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Kerala CM.

He also lauded the success of Kerala Startup Mission and Life Mission Project in the state. Further, he praised the health care system of the state.

"The Narendra Modi-led administration has made the country the fifth-largest economy in the world. India has a non-aligned stance towards terrorism," he said.

Pinarayi Vijayan stated that the constitution defines the essence of India as a democratic country that embraces diverse cultural characteristics. He said that by upholding the Constitution, everyone could move forward with secularism and democracy.
