Kazhakoottam: A man and his son were thrashed by a tea-seller following an argument over the quality of tea sold in the shop. The victims have been identified as Sameer (43), a native of Puthukuruchi, and his son Sadhisami (18), a plus one student.
The incident took place around 6 pm on Monday. The accused is Nazumuddin, the tea-stall owner. Reportedly, the victims were beaten up in front of Sameer’s wife.
As per reports, Sameer’s wife, who had been undergoing treatment at the medical college hospital, stopped at Nazumuddin’s stall to have a cup of tea on her way back.
When the tea was served, she said it tasted bad and asked for another one. The shopkeeper refused to do so and it led to an argument with the family. Following which, Sameer and his son were beaten up.
Sameer, who sustained a lip injury, has sought treatment at a private hospital.
Meanwhile, the Kazhakootam police have registered a case against Nazumuddin based on the complaint lodged by Sameer.
Earlier, the Kazhakootam police had booked Nazumuddin for shouting abuse at an ambulance driver and slashing the tyre of the vehicle.
Nazumuddin has also filed a complaint against the father-son duo alleging they had attacked him.
