Palakkad: Forest Minister AK Saseendran has confirmed that forest officials have finally managed to tranquilise Palakkad Tusker (PT 7) that terrorised locals in Dhoni for the past several years. He added that tranquilising the tusker is the toughest part of the entire mission but the forest officials managed to accomplish it successfully.
The process of guiding the tranquilised tusker into a lorry with the three Kumki elephants has concluded. PT 7 will be moved to a special cage arranged in Dhoni.
Meanwhile, the police have ensured that people do not enter the forest illegally to get a glimpse of the elephant.
Earlier today, a rapid response team entered the Dhoni forest region and captured PT 7. Though the efforts to spot and tranquilise began on Saturday, the mission turned unsuccessful on the initial days.
