Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala Public Service Commission (PSC) will return to the government the draft regulations for selection of non-teaching staff in universities for more clarification. The draft regulations have not included the university-wise details of the positions vacant or the qualifications required.

Some of the members pointed out the ineffective translation of the regulation into Malayalam. The meeting also decided to ask for the English copy of the regulation. The responsibility of recruiting non-teaching staff in the 13 universities of the state was bestowed on PSC by a government order issued 3 years ago.

PSC has started recruiting for the positions of Assistant and Computer Assistant, as the government issued an executive order. PSC sent back the draft regulations for the positions such as Last Grade, Driver, Security and Librarian, which are yet to be filled. The meeting also decided to simultaneously conduct the examination to the positions which demands same qualification and to prepare separate rank lists.
