PSC to oversee appointments to aided educational institutions: Assembly Committee
Thiruvananthapuram: The Assembly Committee on the Welfare of Youth and Youth Affairs has recommended to leave the appointments of aided educational institutions to the Public Service Commission(PSC).
The committee has recommended that reservation followed by government schools should be followed in the appointments to aided schools functioning under government aid.
Proper representation should also be given to Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes. All appointments to the aided education sector should be conducted by the PSC.
In order to ensure that reservation is followed in the appointments, a permanent system should be formulated. The committee has also recommended that the reservation of scheduled castes and tribes should be ensured to the posts of principals and headmasters too, which are promotion posts. However, it is for the government to take a final decision in this regard.
