Kozhikode: PSC’s notification on submission of the relinquishment application has created utter confusion among the candidates and its offices concerned are getting rampant enquiries seeking clarity.
Application for relinquishment of the claim for the appointment is a declaration form submitted by a candidate to acknowledge that the person “will not put forward any claim in future for advice for appointment from the Rank list concerned”. Usually, this application is given only by a candidate who gets an appointment in a position higher than the post for which he or she is already shortlisted in the rank list.
PSC has decided that those who submit such an application should certify that the candidate appeared in person and signed the application.
The relinquishment form should be attested by a Gazetted Officer of State/Central Government service. It should be submitted along with an affidavit on stamp paper bearing the attestation by the notary and a self-attested copy of the ID proof.
PSC intended to send the notification regarding the same to the applicants concerned. But this notification has been sent to all candidates including those who are not named in any rank lists and individuals who are already in government service.
