PSC rank holder's suicide: Youth organisations stage protest at secretariat
Thiruvananthapuram: ABVP, Youth Congress, KSU and Youth League staged protest in front of the secretariat after a 28-year old PSC exam rank holder committed suicide due to the cancellation of PSC rank list. As the protesters created ruckus, the police used water cannon injuring a few of them.
Police arrested two women leaders of Youth Congress who entered into the secretariat by jumping over the compound wall.
Activists of various youth wing associations had started marching to the secretariat from Sunday morning as the suicide of the youth made headlines.
At first, ABVP activists reached the secretariat. When they tried to enter into the secretariat, police used water cannon on them. One activist got injured and was taken to the hospital.
Later, Youth Congress and KSU activists also marched to the secretariat and staged a protest. Police used water cannon on them twice as they continued attempt to get into the secretariat. Two activists among them got injured and one had a head injury.
Amidst this, two women activists jumped over the wall and entered into the secretariat. Women police arrested both of them. Youth League activists also staged a protest here by raising slogans against PSC.
