The fraud was planned using the smart watch possessed by the first accused Shivarenjith. According to Pranav’s statement, he plotted the fraud with Shivarenjith and their friends Gokul, Safeer and some others also helped them.

Thiruvananthapuram: It is hinted that the students who are named accused in the University College stabbing case are also involved in the PSC examination fraud. The Crime Branch received information in this regard during interrogation of Pranav who is considered as the main conspirator behind the case. Some other students of the college also are likely to be named accused in the case.

The probe team had taken Pranav and Safeer into custody and collected evidence from Kottayam the other day. It is learnt that mobile phone or other equipment could not be found in the inspection. According to the statement of Pranav, he destroyed the smart watch which he used to receive the answers via SMS, when he was hiding in Kottayam.

As Pranav did not reveal who helped him for cheating in the exam, the Crime Branch has decided to collect evidences based on scientific examinations. Lie detection tests also will be conducted, if necessary.

Pranav told the probe team that he decided to cheat in the exam as he was concerned over not getting job because of his age. He also stated that he was involved in the exam fraud because he was already 26 and any delay in passing the exam will reduce his chances of getting job in police force. He added that he was sure of his failure if he had not cheated on the exam.

The fraud was planned using the smart watch possessed by the first accused Shivarenjith. According to Pranav’s statement, he plotted the fraud with Shivarenjith and their friends Gokul, Safeer and some others also helped them.

The accused in the case Shivarenjith, Naseem, Gokul and Safeer stated it was Pranav who plotted the exam fraud. The police had issued lookout notice against Pranav, who is 17th accused in the University College stabbing case. During this period, the PSC vigilance wing had summoned Pranav to record statement. He went absconding after this.

The Crime Branch said that Pranav is trying to deviate the investigation by giving contradictory statements. Evidence was collected from Attingal school where Pranav appeared for the exam.
