Provide special allowance to relieve physical, mental stress of police, DGP suggests to Kerala govt

Thiruvananthapuram: The Director General of Kerala Police Anil Kant has recommended to the state government to provide special allowance to the police officers for their physical and mental stress. He suggested providing Rs 600 to Rs 1,000 to the officers in the ranks from Civil Police Officers to Inspectors.

The suggestion:

CPO- Rs 600

Senior CPO- Rs 700

ASI- Rs 800

SI- Rs 900

Inspector- Rs 1,000

Other suggestions: Extend exclusive allowance in the cyber cell to the DySPs in the District Crime Records Bureau, reinstate special allowance to Station Writers, increase the uniform allowance to Rs 10,000, a new grade for inspectors who have completed 33 years in service, an additional allowance of 10 per cent of the basic salary for camp followers and equal allowance of the armed forces to the orchestra members as well.

A committee led by ADGP relooked into the 11th Pay Revision Commission following allegations of disparities. The government has asked the DGP to review the report. These suggestions are part of the report of the DGP.
