Protesters move to hunger strike; withdraws demand for ministerial level talks

Thiruvananthapuram: The protest staged by PSC rank holders in front of the Secretariat has reached the 24th day on Thursday. The protesters have decided to stage hunger strike from today.

However, withdrawing their earlier demand for ministerial level conciliation talks, the representatives of the rank holders stated that they are willing to hold discussions with any government official who can resolve the issue.

The protesters also confirmed that no initiative for talks was conveyed by the government yet.

Meanwhile, the candidates included in the PSC rank list of KSRTC mechanic have also joined the protesters in front of the Secretariat.

The protests are being staged from the south to north gate of the Secretariat. The Opposition parties and various youth outfits have expressed solidarity to the protesters and joined them.

KSU and Youth Congress will stage protest march in this regard later the day.
