Kochi: Opposition leader VD Satheesan said that the Kerala Police maintains a double standard in registering cases against protestors. "Cases are not being booked even after Congress offices are wrecked in the name of protests. The case over attacking a Congressman was booked under a bailable offence. CPM leaders are raising death threats against me. I’m not allowed to go out. Nothing is being said even after a Gandhi statue was beheaded by CPM activists," Satheesan said during a press meet.

Reacting to the questions from the media on the in-flight potest of Youth Congress against the chief minister, Satheesan said he would be the first person to condemn it if an attack against the CM is attempted. "The Youth Congress activists started protesting after the CM exited the plane. Everyone has the visuals of what the CPM state secretary and LDF convener said. CPM leaders are changing their opinion on this matter based on the instructions received from the CM’s office," he said.

"Protest is the same anywhere, be it on a train or flight. Hasn't CPM poured black oil over a minister who was travelling on a train? If a protest can take place on a train, then why not on a flight? The LDF convener pushed aside two men on the flight. Has a case been booked on this matter? A complaint has been filed over the report submitted by IndiGo. The district judge is looking into the matter. Further measures will be taken if the report is proven to be false," he added.
