Protest against Sabarimala in Delhi; Jayarajan’s car blocked
New Delhi: A ‘namajabayatra’ was conducted in Delhi protesting against the Supreme Court verdict that permitted women of all age groups to enter Sabarimala. The protest witnessed some clashes. The protesters who reached the Kerala House to submit a petition to the authorities blocked Minister EP Jayarajan’s car. Police and security personnel intervened and removed protesters for the car to pass by.
The security has been beefed up at Kerala House in the wake of ministers including Chief Minister is present here. The security officers didn’t allow the protesters to enter Kerala House to submit the petition. But the protesters were not ready to disperse.
Meanwhile, Jayarajan was returning here after taking part in the CPM national committee meet. Protesters pounded on Jayarajan’s car. Police intervened and tried to remove them. This led to clashes.
The protesters finally dispersed after authorities accepted the petition.
