Kottarakkara: Prohibitory order was issued in district police Kollam rural till Monday in view of the clashes inside DB college in Sasthamkotta spilling outside the campus. Restrictions were imposed as per section 79 of the Kerala Police Act.

Assembling of more than 4 persons, political meetings, demonstrations and all actions that account for breach of peace will be prohibited till 11 am on February 21. Religious gatherings are not curtailed here.

Following the conflicts in the college, the political parties had organised rallies and conferences in various parts of the district. The prohibitory orders were issued considering that political encounters and provocative slogans may affect the public tranquility, said SP KB Ravi.
