Prohibiting media from entering Secretariat was wrong: CPI
Thiruvananthapuram: CPI state secretary Kanam Rajendran on Tuesday criticised the chief minister’s action of prohibiting the media inside the secretariat.
The media was barred from entering the Secretariat while the Justice PS Antony Commission, which probed the sleaze phone chat row involving former Minister A K Saseendran, submitted its report to the state government today. The Chief Minister's Office had issued a strict direction in this regard.
Kanam said that one should remember that Thiruvananthapuram is not Jaipur, where a law against media was introduced.
"The CPI will respond to criticism no matter who raises it. The CPM should explain what is decency of coalition politics," Kanam said.
He also asked minister MM Mani to learn history.
CPI leader Pannyan Raveendran responded that the ban on media entry in Secretariat is wrong. The decision should be re-examined, he said.
