Palakkad: The Cooperative Department in Kerala launched an e-commerce market as a part of their initiative to sell products of the cooperatives online. The e-commerce market is part of the department's multi-faceted programme for "Branding & Marketing of Cooperative Products."

In the initial phase, only selected products would be made available through Amazon under the 'Coop Kerala' brand. More products would receive final clearance after the quality inspection by the state-appointed management body. As of now, the management body has cleared 64 products to be labelled under the 'Coop Kerala' brand.

Initially, Thrissur Pappinivattam Service Co-operative Bank Ltd's solar-based products, LED bulbs and Kerala state Rubber Co-operative Ltd's (Rubco) magazine racks, travel mats, and pillows will be made available for sale.

Meanwhile, the government will increase 'Coopmart' stores (selling products of cooperatives in the state) to 200 outlets.
