Thiruvalla: A preliminary investigation will be started into the remarks made by minister Saji Cheriyan about Indian Constitution. The investigation was initiated based on the complaints received by Pathanamthitta SP and State Police Chief Anil Kant.
Thiruvalla DySP has been assigned the charge of investigation in the matter. The probe team will inspect whether the speech includes remarks by the minister that are against the constitution. Action will be taken against the minister based on the reports prepared after inspecting the speech.
Minister Saji Cheriyan had criticised the Indian Constitution by saying that it helps in plundering the wealth of people in the country. He spoke during a political event at Mallapally in Pathanamthitta. “I would say the constitution is written in such a way to loot the people. Indians adopted a constitution as per the direction of the British," he had said.
