Kannur: Priya Varghese, wife of Chief Minister's private secretary KK Ragesh, said she is not sad about the high court order in connection with the Kannur University appointment row.

Taking to Facebook, Priya wrote, “Actually, the story of a Joseph Skaria and a Priya Varghese fighting for a piece of bread like cats in old granny stories and coming back without getting any bread is being called the Government vs Governor row. Here, Priya Varghese, the person, has nothing to be sad about.”

The Kerala High Court on Thursday had cancelled the appointment of Priya Varghese as the associate professor at Kannur University. The court also directed the university to revise the rank list.

The court viewed that Priya Varghese did not have the relevant period of actual teaching experience as stipulated under the University Grants Commission (UGC) Regulations of 2018.

The verdict came in a petition filed by Joseph Skaria, who obtained the second rank in the interview conducted by Kannur University for the appointment of associate professor of the Malayalam department.
