Priest from Koodapuzha arrested for conducting holy mass violating COVID-19 orders
Chalakkudy: A priest was arrested for conducting holy mass with the participation of over 100 believers at a church here on Monday. The priest named Fr Pauly Padayatti, vicar at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Koodapuzha here was arrested for evading the government orders against mass gathering in view of COVID-19 outbreak.
The police also booked case against the believers who took part in the holy mass by violating the government order. Following the outbreak of the pandemic, archdiocese directed believers to pray at home and avoid holy mass at church.
It is learned that evading all rules, holy mass was conducted in the church under the vicar on Monday around 6.30 in the morning.
